Trees are among nature’s most remarkable achievements. They can live in baking hot deserts or icy arctic regions, fending off drought, flood, parasites and predators. Trees can live for thousands of years, and teem with hundreds of species of animal. At the same time, they provide us with fuel, food, shelter and even the oxygen that we breathe. A world without trees would be a barren, dry and polluted wasteland. You Wouldn’t Want to Live Without Trees! is part of a brand-new science and technology strand within the internationally acclaimed You Wouldn’t Want to Be series. The clear, engaging text and humorous illustrations bring the subject to life and stimulate young readers' curiosity about the world around them.
