Synopsis
Three stories that form part of a single story. In 1941, in a city in provincial Argentina, a girl confesses to a priest the first uncertain sexual impulses she notes in her body, related to the attraction she feels for a young man with the surname Videla who passes beneath her window each day.
In 1977, a group of young revolutionaries prepares an attack on a Videla who is no longer young and whose name is now known to everybody. Finally, an old woman – the girl from the first story – plays a game of cards with her grandson who has come to visit her in the residence where she spends her days, and between moves tells him what happened to her son, the boy’s father, in what turns out to be a new confession. Three stories and three periods that interweave to forge a single story. Three stories that speak of pain, guilt and confessions.

À propos de l'auteur
Martín Kohan was born in Buenos Aires in 1967. He teaches Literary Theory at the University of Buenos Aires. He has published a number of books of essays and short stories in addition to seven novels to date. His work has appeared with publishers of great prestige in Europe such as Anagrama (Spain), Einaudi (Italy), Seuil (France) and Suhrkamp (Germany). The 25th Herralde Prize for Novels awarded to Moral Sciences (Ciencias morales), which was adapted for the screen by Diego Lerman, consecrated him as one of the most important authors in today’s international literary panorama.
