Dr Karl Phillips completed his doctorate in Mining Engineering from Cardiff University before working in many different sectors and for a wide variety of organisations. Karl is a self-professed life learner and is always seeking to be at the cutting edge of technology, data, knowledge. He is now a consultant, an educator and a winner of multiple awards, including the international InnoCentive award. He has been fortunate enough to write many technical and management papers, present at worldwide conferences, and work and travel all over the world. He has always been willing to try new things, push the boundaries and tries to keep an open mind on things as well, whilst recognising that 'doing nothing is so under-rated' because it allows the mind and body to rest, and for the soul to speak, if you listen ever so carefully.
