Katy Wareham Morris is a writer and lecturer in media and culture based in the West Midlands, UK. She has a particular interest in gender and queer studies, identity politics and digital humanities. Alongisde her poetry, she is currently working on her PhD research in literary gaming, play and post-queer politics.Katy's debut poetry collection, Cutting the Green Ribbon was published by Bristol-based, experimental publisher Hesterglock in May 2018. The collection is a collage of womxn's voices, aiming to confront the identities attached to women by white, partiarchal discourse. The poetry is sexy, political and provocative. The pamphlet was launched at Ledbury Poetry Festival 2017 and was shortlisted for the Saboteur Awards 2018 in the Best Collaborative Work category.Katy's poems have also featured in literary journals such as The Curlew and webzines, I am not a silent poet and Ink, Sweat and Tears. In November 2017, she was longlisted in the Ink, Sweat and Tears Pamphlet Competition. This collection of poetry will be her next pamphlet, to be published in 2019.
