and he didn't like the color green.

Purple is their color,

Elias saw to that.

He led them underneath a tree

which turns elves' ears from green to black.

From black they turned to purple

and it is the color they will stay.

For the tree can change elves' ears only once

and Elias likes their ears that way,

and so do the elves.
