In the real world of the classroom, there is general agreement that students should have an opportunity to create and further their own learning. For such a student-centered experience to exist, students need the foundational knowledge and skills most effectively and efficiently provided by a skilled teacher.
Teach FAST describes how teachers can plan and deliver the most effective and efficient lessons possible using a single lesson framework. It is based on a synthesis of cognitive science and nearly 20 years of experience training and coaching teachers in classrooms on how best to provide instruction in foundational knowledge and skills that allow students to reach their creative potential.

Gene Tavernetti began his career in education in 1977 and has served as a coach, teacher, counselor, and administrator. He found his true passion when he began to work one to one as an instructional coach and witnessed the immediate, direct, and positive impact he could have on teachers, administrators, and ultimately student learning.
In 2006, Dr. Tavernetti co-founded Total Educational Systems Support (TESS). Since its founding, TESS, and Gene, have trained and coached thousands of educators in teacher directed instruction emphasizing strategies for engagement, language development, and higher order thinking. He is also the author of Teach FAST: Focused Adaptable Structured Teaching, a lesson framework based on a synthesis of cognitive science and his nearly 20 years of experience training and coaching teachers.
Gene continues to work with selected districts training teachers, coaches, and administrators in reality-based effective instruction.
