Synopsis

This short collection of plays is the culmination of the first three years of research exploring acts of intimacy and sex on stage. Each play examines these themes in different ways from the platonic to the loving, the consensual to the violent, the transactional to the disappointing.

For Better or For Worse: Boy meets girl, boy marries girl, boy does something he probably shouldn’t. What could possibly go wrong?

Cigarettes & Chairs: Struggling with addiction and feeling his relationship is on the edge of disaster, Gregg is determined to get his life back on track and make it work. But things don’t always go to plan.

Do It: A short play for voices. Read it aloud. Do it.

Alexander’s previous work has received the John Beecher Memorial Award for original, challenging work with high production value (A Caravan Named Desire and I Heart Michael Ball) and the London Pub Theatre’s Standing Ovation (I Heart Michael Ball).
