A candid, witty, and insightful exploration of the cultural history of the foot fetish, examining one of the world’s most common yet persistently misunderstood desires.
According to recent research, one in seven people have fantasized about feet at some point in their lives—so why does the subject remain so taboo?
In Solemates, queer writer and podcaster Adam Zmith dives into the history, psychology, and cultural significance of foot fetishism, tracing its presence from medieval poetry and Renaissance art to contemporary queer culture, film, and online platforms.
Blending personal reflection, cultural criticism, humor, and sex-positive inquiry, Zmith approaches the topic with curiosity and openness, offering a thoughtful examination of how desire shapes the ways people understand bodies, intimacy, and sexuality.
Enlightening, provocative, and refreshingly nonjudgmental, Solemates uncovers the rich and surprisingly revealing story behind our fascination with everything below the ankle.
