Synopsis

All our lives, history has told us what happened, when it happened, and why it happened, but how sure can we be that we've been told the truth? The stories inside these covers offer alternative possibilities to recognised and established facts - after all, there's always two sides to every story. And so, between these covers, you'll discover things you never knew about certain famous/infamous characters from history.

For example; Who really was responsible for the Great Fire of London in 1666, and whose fault was it anyway? Did Lady Jane Grey really want to be Queen of England for only a few days, following the death of her young cousin Edward V1 - or was she coerced into it by ambitious relatives?

Then, there's Good King Arthur, who has promised to return from his grave, should England ever need him - but was this hero man or myth? And what about Guy Fawkes, whose name has been celebrated for centuries - did he really try to blow up king and parliament, or was he just a convenient puppet?

You'll no doubt have heard of the famous, but mad artist, Vincent van Gogh, but was he really mad, or was he the victim of circumstances? Did he take his own life, or was he murdered?

When you close this book after the last page, you'll know its characters just a little better, and be able to decide for yourself if history judged them fairly- or was it just one big fairy tale?
