With the theme of growth, Chen’s art explores the mutual influence and intertwining of individuals, society, regions and civilisations, innovating and evolving through the exchange of civilisations. The book will accompany Chen Yujun’s retrospective solo exhibition, which will be held at the Long Museum in Shanghai in the summer of 2025.

À propos de l'auteur

Maurizio Marinelli is Professor of China and Global Prosperity at the Institute for Global Prosperity (IGP), University College London (UCL). His interdisciplinary research lies at the crossroads of Chinese history, culture, and human geography, with a focus on globally significant themes such as urbanisation, cultural heritage, and sustainable development.

His scholarship has been featured in leading academic journals, including Theory and Society, China Information, Journal of Current Chinese Affairs, Urban History, China Heritage Quarterly, and the Journal of Chinese Political Science.

Alongside his role at IGP, Maurizio is a Distinguished Visiting Professor at the School of Architecture, International Centre for Cultural Heritage, Tianjin University. At UCL, he teaches courses on China and urban studies, exploring prosperity through the lens of quality of life. He also leads the Asia Prosperity Research Hub and plays an active role in the Urban Prosperity Knowledge Network.
