Synopsis

When a powerful winter storm blankets the Campsie Fells in snow, Florence the Border Collie sets off on a snowy hike with her human mummy, Debra. Florence loves the snow — but she is still afraid of almost everything else.

Until she hears a voice crying for help.

Stranded on the hillside is a man with an injured leg, a dangerous animal trap, and no way to call for rescue. Florence must fly alone on the back of a magical Arctic unicorn to save him — without her mummy beside her.

With a friendly fire-breathing dragon keeping watch and a mountain rescue dog who has a secret of his own, Florence is about to discover that even the bravest helpers are scared sometimes.

Filled with snowy adventure, a daring rescue, and a very special biscuit created with the children of St Helen's Primary School in Bishopbriggs, Florence and the Dragon is a warm and funny story about courage, kindness, and helping others even when you're frightened.

The second book in The Magical Adventures of Florence the Border Collie.

À propos de l'auteur

Born in Calderdale, Debra loved cycling and walking in the Yorkshire countryside almost as soon as she could walk. In her teens, she fell in love with the Lake District and hoped she might one day live there. Living opposite the Rowntree Mackintosh factory (now Nestlé), Debra developed a sweet tooth. Her cycles and walks always involved chocolate, such as a Yorkie Bar, Toffee Crisp, or Quality Street chocolates, but Debra was also quite partial to Cadbury's Dairy Milk. In 2005, Debra moved to Scotland, married Scotsman Jim, and became Mrs Murphy. Debra still lives in Scotland with her husband and their Border Collie, eating chocolate, walking, cycling, and writing. She continues to dream of living in the Lake District.
