Synopsis
The Emerging Researcher Programme at the University of Cape Town was launched in response to an urgent need to build research capacity in a new generation of researchers in South Africa. This book is an account of what was done, the challenges encountered and what was learned in the process. As a model it could be adapted to other situations within South Africa and in the broader African context.

À propos de l?auteur
Professor John W. de Gruchy is Emeritus Professor of Christian Studies in the Department of Religious Studies at the University of Cape Town, and a Senior Research Scholar in the Emerging Researcher Programme. He holds a DD from the University of South Africa, a DSocSc from the University of Cape Town, and has received two honorary doctorates. He has published extensively and has an A rating from the National Research Foundation.
