ohn Stenhouse is Associate Professor in the Department of History, University of Otago. He publishes in the fields of religious history, the history of ideas and the history of science. Recent publications include Disseminating Darwinism (1999), co-edited with Ron Numbers, and Building God's Own Country (2004), co-edited with Jane Thomson. Brett Knowles is Director of Academic Resources at Sydney College of Divinity (Macquarie Park, NSW). He was formerly Senior Teaching Fellow in Church History in the Department of Theology and Religious Studies, University of Otago and has research interests in New Zealand Pentecostalism. He has published a history of the New Life Churches of New Zealand as well .
