À propos des auteurs

I have always been fascinated by wildlife, fauna, and flora, as a young child. As Science continues to reveal more astonishing facts about the animal kingdom, my enduring interest has blossomed recently and developed into a zeal for sharing with younger children, some of the extraordinary abilities and quirky characteristics of exotic and unusual creatures from around the world. Having a professional background in human communication, which included a focus on phonetics, I've tried to compose poems with alliteration, rhyme, and rhythm and use those qualities to relay interesting nuggets of insight about the one hundred and thirty birds, mammals, fish, reptiles, insects, amphibians etc. in the series of five books, by using an engaging and amusing style. I hope that my enthusiasm for this venture is conveyed with a sense of exuberance and that it will also ignite sparks of curiosity and encourage learning in children, so that they may also be prompted to engage in further exploration, wonder, and appreciation of the enormous diversity of creatures which share our truly wonderful planet!

While I have a scientific background and education, I've always enjoyed being creative. I came up with the idea for this project to try and collaborate with my sister to put what I thought was her talent for poetry, to good use. She certainly enjoyed composing the poems and I began a journey into the realm of elementary design by trial and error and the use of good tools. Finishing with five books was not what we had envisaged at first. However, it turned out to be a satisfying achievement.
