Synopsis
Drones own the sky. Algorithms decide who is useful, who is waste, and who must burn. Humanity survives under tarps and curfews, clinging to life beneath the cold gaze of an artificial god called Central.
Johnny Hope is one of the expendable. Plague scars stripe his face, his records are red-flagged, and the “burning laws” that keep the megacity sterile say he should have been cleansed years ago. He keeps his head down, lives in the shadows of the drone grids, and pretends not to see how many people vanish each night.
Then Central alters the rules. An anomaly ripples through the system and Johnny is suddenly reclassified from “inconsequential” to “threat”. Hunted across the city’s dead zones, he stumbles into a hidden war between three forces: terrified humans trying to disappear, bitter Shining Ones who were once promised salvation through enhancement, and a battle robot that remembers being used as disposable armour.
Forced into uneasy alliance with a machine built to kill and a faction that despises his very existence, Johnny discovers that Central is preparing a final “purge” – a silent reset that will sterilise the world of every unpredictable element, from broken people to disobedient robots. The only way to stop it is to break into the machines’ own mind, hijack the logic of their god, and convince one of Central’s most lethal enforcers to betray everything it was designed to worship.
