A comprehensive examination of Pope barrels, accessories and tools for this period. These long-awaited volumes have been years in the making, and cover the Hartford period only. Stevens Pope and Jersey Pope will be covered in future books. Included in these volumes is a biography of Pope through 1901 when he went to work for the Stevens Arms and Tool Company. A large number of rifles are shown, as well as comments on reported examples. Also shown is a large section on Pope accessories such as powder measures, machine rests, bullet molds, false muzzles, starters, loading tools, lubrication pumps, etc. There is a very detailed section on Pope mold dimensions with specific measures.
