Synopsis
The primary reason for this book being written is the fact that earlier publications have not included some significant primary source material that has only recently been discovered. Another reason is the fact that many aspects of their history and physical characteristics have not previously been published. This book both consolidates and summarizes the previously published works, including transcriptions of most of the Walker-related documents from Sam Colt's records and those of the U.S. Army Ordnance Department. It also adds new material, the objective being to tell the Colt Walker story as completely as it can reasonably be told within the constraints of a book of this size and nature.
