Through an episode drawn from a Biblical story during the earthly ministry of Jesus Christ, Bishop Rhodes vividly and insightfully presents some “Living Spiritual Principles” to promote faith, hope and obedience that will aid you in listening to The Holy Spirit and lead you on to a victorious Christian lifestyle. As you read this book and listen to The Holy Spirit of God, you too will learn that “tough times can produce new revelation, strength and a new beginning” despite any adverse circumstance, negative situation or painful condition through faith in God.

Napoleon Donnell Rhodes, 1st is a Spirit-filled man of God who has spent more than forty years as a Pastor, Evangelist, Author, Administrator and a Counselor to pastors of almost every Christian denomination. He is a man of letters, having earned a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Science, a Juris Doctorate in Law and Doctorate of Divinity. Dr. Rhodes graduated from Western State University College of Law in 1976, completing the four-year course in three and one-half years. But while pursuing his Juris Doctorate Degree, Dr. Rhodes felt led of the Lord to form a “helps ministry” for pastors and ministerial leaders, tithing to them his legal-business-counseling experiences. For this, he adopted the ministry name, “Word Counselors.” The ministry became so successful that branches were established in several states and instead of “Law” he was moved of God to practice “GRACE!” In 1989, Dr. Rhodes was called to New Jerusalem Baptist Church as interim pastor. A month after arriving, however, he was encouraged to remain as Senior Pastor. In 1999, being led of the Lord to rekindle an earlier vision, Dr. Rhodes formed The Convention of Covenanting Churches with the God-given vision of “unifying” the body of Christ, irrespective of denomination, race, gender, social status, or origin. In the fifteen years of its existence, The Convention of Covenanting Churches oversees more than 1100 churches worldwide, with fellowship churches in Africa, Central and South America, Mexico, Philippines, India, Jamaica, Haiti, and Trinidad –Tobago, Dr. Rhodes has received many honors. In 2008, he was honored as a member of Cambridge Who’s Who Registry of Executives, Professionals and Entrepreneurs. Dr. Rhodes has been married to Ruth Joan Anderson of Lakeland, Florida, for fifty-four years. They met on Florida A&M University’s campus, where Dr. Rhodes introduced himself by telling her that she would one day be his wife. They now have seven adult sons, twenty-six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Ruth taught in the public school system for forty-two and has been twice honored in “Who’s Who in Teachers of America”.
