Synopsis

What does it mean to be a Christian? This question should be asked daily by all who believe in Jesus Christ. The answer comes to each of us as inspiration and insight – to deepen our experience of Jesus, the Living Christ. Rev. Lynch took the twenty questions and answered each with an abundance of material. Now he has published his work for the benefit of others – those planning for ordination, and those who simply want some answers about the ancient faith, as it is understood by many progressive Catholics in the 21st century. His work invites us to sift through the wheat and chaff of Church history, and to plant seeds of faith and wisdom in our own hearts. This book will deepen your relationship with God our Creator, Redeemer and Sanctifier and with your community of fellow Christians on a uniquely personal level.

À propos de l'auteur

Rev. David Justin Lynch says that my purpose in writing this series of books is not just to memorialize the legacy of my thoughts, but to stimulate both the intellectual and spiritual aspects of Catholic Christianity. We can intellectualize at length, but for that for its own sake is the very antithesis of theology, which is, “faith seeking understanding.” The understanding I sought in writing these essays was how to see, hear, smell, feel, and touch God more clearly so as to follow God more nearly. My earnest hope and prayer is that my books will encourage those reading then to go beyond my words and discover that pool of knowledge of which I was unware so as to enhance knowledge of their faith, but more importantly, that it will deepen their relationships with God our Creator, Redeemer and Sanctifier and with their community of fellow Christians on a uniquely personal level. I pray that my books inspire just one of my readers to pursue ordained ministry. If that happens, I will feel I’ve done my job.
