Synopsis

Blogs, wikis and newsfeeds are relatively new technologies that make it amazingly easy for anybody to publish on the web, and easy to read as well. Their standard newsfeed format and programming interfaces also create fresh opportunities for developers who want to add web publishing capabilties to software products and electronic devices.

The book explains how to use these powerful technologies in your own applications to build into them new ways of collaboration and communication.

Blogs, Wikis, and Feeds in Action is an innovator's guide that will show you how to integrate blog, wiki, and newsfeed technologies into your existing applications, using Java and C#. A dozen small but amazingly useful example applications will cause a lightbulb to go on in your mind: you will get ideas about subtly useful capabilities you can build with these simple tools. The examples include a community aggregator, a file distribution newsfeed, a blog cross-poster, an email-to-blog gateway, Ant tasks for blogging software builds, and more.
