Luis Ortiz is the illustrator of the anthology STEAMPUNK PRIME and the author of ARTS UNKNOWN: THE LIFE & ART OF LEE BROWN COYE, OUTERMOST: THE ART + LIFE OF JACK GAUGHAN, and EMSHWILLER: INFINITY X TWO, which was nominated for both the Hugo and Locus Awards. He is also the editor of THE MONKEY'S OTHER PAW, and WHY NEW YORKERS SMOKE, THE NONSTOP BOOK OF FANTASTIKA TATTOO DESIGNS, and the co-editor of CULT MAGAZINES: A TO Z– A COMPENDIUM OF CULTURALLY OBSESSIVE & CURIOUSLY EXPRESSIVE PUBLICATIONS. His writings have also appeared in Filmfax, and Illustration Magazine. He lives and works as an advertising creative in New York City.
