The history of hot rodding is filled with stories of cars that were lost for a wide variety of reasons. Some were crashed, others lost in accidents, and others simply faded away. Its the third group that "Lost Hot Rods II" focuses on. Many great hot rods that were once famous were simply hidden away. Some of them have been tracked down and are now found once again. As a solid follow-up to the success of the original "Lost Hot Rods," this book continues the fun of discovering whatever happened to many of the great rods and customs built in the early days of the sport. "Lost Hot Rods II" shares the full story of each car, including how it was originally built, when it dropped off the radar, and how it was ultimately found. Photos from the past and present are included to showcase the story behind each and every one of these great cars. Industry veteran and celebrated historian Pat Ganahl once again opens the archives and pounds the pavement in order to bring you the stories on some of the coolest cars ever to appear in shows or grace the pages of automotive magazines. A perfect companion to the best-selling "Lost Hot Rods: Remarkable Stories of How They Were Found."

It's a worthy buy --Jalopy Journal, October, 2012---Lost Hot Rods II is a great collection of once-famous cars that were lost or forgotten over time and the remarkable stories of how they were found. These personal tales make the long-lost-car's stories really come to life. -MSRA LineChaser, December 2012---- Pat Ganahl has done it again! And, just like before, do not let the title of his new book, Lost Hot Rods II fool you. There are plenty of 'lost customs' included as well! - --Kustoms Illustrated, Fall 2012---deserves ongoing mention and recommendation as a top pick not just for car collector's libraries, but for any general lending library. Intriguing writing! -- ---- --Midwest Book Review, Oct, 2012
another fascinating selection of historic customs and drag cars. --Classic & Sports Car, March, 2013----the informal narrative gives an inkling of how these machines survivde the wilderness years to shine once more...if the first edition had you hooked, this will too. --Classic Cars, April, 2013
...another mouth-watering selection of lost (or perhaps more accurately hidden) street rods and race cars, many languishing untouched awaiting who-knows-what fate. For those readers unfamiliar with the book, its not about the mythical barn find, discovered mouldering away in some farmer's outbuilding. Far from it. As pat points out, most hot rods were and are built in urban environments and are therefore more likely to be rediscovered in a suburban garage than out in the boonies, miles from civilization. Indeed, most of the featured cars in volume one were found close to home....After following countless leads he has unearthed another 60 or so hot rods, show cars, racers, and movie stars that disappeared into obscurity after first appearing in magazines or on the silver screen. Some remain tantalisingly out of reach, known to exist but exact ownership and whereabouts unknown or a closely guarded secret....Nevertheless, a surprising number of cars which had seemingly disappeared for ever have resurfaced.....All have a story to tell, and where it was possible photos showing them as they were originally in their heyday and now. More importantly, this is a jolly good read and an automotive voyeur's delight. Highly recommended. --Classic American, October, 2013
