“David Filer’s poems are like the interior of a warm house—small fire, pleasant chairs, good company waiting for you. Then, he opens the door so you can come in and rest. Filer lets you hear what is coming to his heart is celebratory and satisfying. Few poets write with such understanding of who they are, what they seek and what amounts to meaning in the world. Such plain spoken, clarifying poems."
