The fifteen stories of the high seas collected in this volume are considered by some to be the best ever written of adventure on the oceans. Written in the days before today’s modern sailing vessels, these stories bring out the romantic in all of us, as well as the adventurer. Two of the stories are non-fiction, while the remainder are fiction. All were written between the years 1843 and 1913. A few of the authors’ have very recognizable Ben Ames Williams, Jack London, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and Morgan Robertson; and a few are less known but famous in their own Philip Ashton, James Oliver Curwood, Louis Becke, and Everett L. Getchell. All are enjoyable to read and will be remembered.
