R ini Dhumal (geb. 1948) gehört zu den führenden Künstlerinnen Indiens. Nach Studien in Bengalen und Paris lebt sie heute als Künstlerin und Hochschullehrerin in Baroda (Gujarat). In allen Techniken (Malerei, Skulptur, Zeichnung, Keramik, Radierung) setzt sie sich mit dem Thema 'Frau' auseinander: anonyme Frauen, 'Queens', oder die weiblichen Gottheiten Indiens.
