This book is a fascinating continuation of the journey begun by researcher St. Clair in 2010 and contained in the original volume of Most Comprehensive Origins of Clichés, Proverbs and Figurative Expressions published in 2013. As in that work, like his previous phrase origin books, St. Clair disproves much folk etymology and claims by other published sources, often by showing earlier citations which indicate that many popular stories regarding the origins of idioms, proverbs and metaphors are totally untrue. Some new features include cross-referencing on expressions which may be arranged in more than one way, plus referrals back to the original volume when applicable. Also he has added numerical identification of those entries primarily native to Britain and Australia. Another new aspect is inclusion of some common oxymorons which have become cliché. This volume has over 1,000 new entries and is a must for those who own the first volume.

Stanley J. "Stan" St.Clair Stan is the founder and owner of St.Clair Publications found at http://stclairpublications.com, and a retired insurance agent/ manager. In addition to a designation of LUTCF from the National Association of Life Underwriters in Washington, DC, he has a Bachelors in Religious Education from Covington College and Theological Seminary. Stan's articles, poetry, and books have been published in at least four countries. He was featured in the 2007-2008 Cambridge Who's Who, Honors Edition, and the International Who's Who in Poetry in 2004. He has traveled extensively around the globe, has met a number of dignitaries and counts well-known authors among his friends.
