Dr. Philip Springer is a retired psychiatrist and former general practitioner in rural Mississippi. He developed the Double Circle Group while on the faculty of the University of Florida. Throughout his career, he has concentrated on peer directed group process using his experience in Alcoholics Anonymous as well as his early training in the National Training Labs at Bethel,Maine. He resides in Gainesville Florida. Dr. Shelby Havens is a psychiatric and primary care nurse practitioner. She worked for many years with chronically ill patients in Florida's prisons and jails. She currently teaches in the bachelors degree program in healthcare administration at City College and sees patients at the Helping Hands Clinic, a facility that provides care services for homeless clients. Shelby lives in Gainesville Florida.
