Stanford Apseloff writes for children, young adults, and anyone interested in art, nature, or wildlife. As a child and young adult, Stan never had an answer for the question, "What do you want to do when you grow up?" After changing majors in college five times, he obtained a BA in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania, and a BS in Finance from the Wharton School of Business, then an MBA Degree with Honors from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business, and a Juris Doctor degree from the Ohio State University College of Law. Stan began a career in management consulting, but abandoned that to start a software company specializing in health/nutrition software and children's educational games. Then he discovered wildlife photography and traveled the world, including trips to Antarctica, Madagascar, Botswana, Nepal, Amazon Forrest, Serengeti Plain, and various remote islands. Along the way he discovered a passion for writing, and published three books based on his wildlife photography. Stan also wrote two books on the artwork of Michael Cheval, the artist who later illustrated Stan's novel, The Third Syzygy.

Michael Cheval is an internationally acclaimed artist whose paintings have been collected and exhibited worldwide. His paintings have been exhibited at the H.R. Giger Museum Gallery in Switzerland, the Dreamscape Exhibition in Amsterdam, the exhibition of the Society of Art of Imagination in London, the Turkmenistan National Museum of Fine Art, the Brave Destiny Exhibition in New York, and the International Art Expo in New York. He has paintings in permanent collections at the Museum of Fine Art in Volgodonsk, Russia, and Turkmenistan's State Museum of Fine Art. He is a recipient of the New York National Arts Club Exhibition Committee Award and the prestigious Palm Art Award. Michael Cheval was selected as "Best of Worldwide Oil Artists" by the publication Best of Worldwide Artists (Kennedy Publishing, USA). His artwork has been featured in books worldwide, including Imaginaire in Denmark, Masters of Painting in Portugal, and several books in the USA. Michael Cheval lives in New Jersey with his wife and son.
