Synopsis

In the memoir, My Heart; My Responsibility: A Single Woman's Guide to Waiting, Daniellie Marie authentically and transparently shares how growing up without her mom or dad led to deep rooted abandonment and rejection issues. Feelings of worthlessness invaded her life as a child and followed her into adulthood without permission or invitation.

Daniellie unconsciously tried to fill the voids of loneliness with band-aids that only provided a temporary fix. She identifies the band-aids she attempted to use to cover her wounds as: Marriage, Sex and Success. Daniellie was raised in a Christian church and believed the teachings regarding pre-marital sex. So, at the age of 23, despite the warning, she got married to the first man who asked; by the age of 30 Daniellie was single again. Instead of seeking wholeness in the Lord Jesus Christ, Daniellie turned to the comfort of men and sex to ease the pain and soothe her unquenchable thirst. Meanwhile, Daniellie continued to excel professionally and was thriving as an entrepreneur. Yet, the band-aid of success was not sufficient in filling the longing desire to be accepted.

But in steps Jesus! And while in the darkest and lowest place of her life she experienced the unfailing and unchanging love of God. Daniellie shares how the retractable reach of God pulled her from the pit and the pain of her past. As she continued her journey as a single woman Daniellie allowed the Lord to make her complete and filled the holes of her heart. She learned to depend of the Lord for His guidance and approval making His word the final authority in her life, therefore, when He said, "Wait" She did.

In Daniellie's debut book she extends an invitation to other single women to consider the 3D's when assessing the suitability of a partner: Does He Deserve it? Does He Desire it? And Does he know what to Do with it? Daniellie encourages single women to keep waiting until you can answer "yes" to the 3D's. It's your heart, so be responsible with whom you give it.
