It is an experiment of using some beautiful artwork (created by my super-talented mother, Nira Spitz) and writing essays of Jewish philosophy, using her artwork as a launching pad. Inspired by the head of my Yeshiva, Rabbi Aharon Lichtenstein ZT”L, it is a collection of four essays on a variety of themes: an exploration of the Jewish view of general culture using the ancient Oracle of Delphi as a specific example; a comparison of the Jewish nation to the under-esteemed acacia tree; the Jewish value and propensity to look misfortune in the eye and seek the good in it; and finally the biblical view on the relationship between beauty and danger.
