Steve Hickner is a film director at DreamWorks Animation. He has directed the films The Prince of Egypt and Bee Movie. He has also worked as storyboard artist on Peabody and Sherman, Shrek Forever After, Over the Hedge, Madagascar, Shark Tale, and Antz. Hickner has worked at a number of studios, including Walt Disney Animation Studios and Steven Spielberg’s Amblimation, where he was a producer for An American Tail: Fievel Goes West and Balto. He recently began working on DreamWorks’ theme park and location-based projects. He frequently lectures at universities throughout the United States. Hickner is the author of Animation Rules! 52 Ways to Achieve Creative Success. His first book, Animating Your Career, was published in 2013.
