An enrolled member of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma, he brings his knowledge of culture and his love of basketball to all the books in the No Name novels. In 2018, Tingle received the Arrell Gibson Lifetime Achievement Award from the Oklahoma Center for the Book. That same year, A Name Earned, the third book in his No Name series, earned a Kirkus Star. Tingle resides in Canyon Lake, Texas.
