Synopsis

Grace Donner longs to work as a protector outside of her Cloister. But when forbidden technology results in her expulsion, Grace learns that upholding the law is anything but simple. As Grace sinks into a world of vendettas, espionage, and forced modification, she will have to use all of her Academy-trained abilities to survive. She will have to choose between her contracts and her friends, underground technology and the law she is paid to enforce. How much of her Cloister ethics is she willing to abandon?

Corey grew up in Southern California with two loving parents, two dogs, two rabbits and many cats. He found nirvana in 1979 by bubbling Hollerith cards in FORTRAN and sending them to the LAUSD mainframe computer for subsequent compilation. He published his first commercial software in 1983 with the release of Gold Fever for the VIC-20. He attended the University of California, Irvine, graduating with a BSME in 1988. His engineering career has exposed him to F/A-18 flight simulators, mass transit control systems, financial markets and retail. A serial entrepreneur, he started his first company in 1982 (Interesting Software), an initial public offering analytics firm with his wife in 1996 (Alert-IPO!) and tackled comparison shopping with a group of friends in 1999 (Pricegrabber). Corey married Nenita in 1995 and they have one son. They live in New Hampshire where they enjoy their summer gardens and their winter snow. Corey’s hobbies include piano, accordion, and skunking Nenita at cribbage. Corey and Justin have been friends since 1978. Justin Pecot III, a graphic artist and writer by trade, is a fan of science-fiction, fantasy and comedy genres. He is an outspoken and mostly anonymous critic of evil and chaos. Justin resides near the pounding surf of Pacific City, Oregon with his wife Arwyn and their daughter, Hannah Rose. Justin attended California State University Dominguez Hills, Carson, as well as Los Angeles Harbor College where he majored in journalism and public relations. He is a musician who specializes in ‘playing many instruments badly’, as well as an actor, who, for several years, convinced thousands of Renaissance Faire patrons that black dudes with glasses existed in Elizabethan England.
