In 2011, Brown founded the comics publisher Retrofit Comics. His graphic novel Andre the Giant: Life and Legend, (First Second Books, 2014) debuted as ninth bestseller on the New York Times Bestseller List for Paperback Graphic Books and remained on the list for three weeks. His other works include Tetris: The Games People Play, Is This Guy For Real?: The Unbelievable Andy Kaufman, An Entity Observes All Things and others.
