Alone on a 1600 mile bicycle trek through Europe, Pamela Jane Holberton rode in a manic mood. Even after being forsaken by her high-achieving family and locked into the mental health system for more than a quarter of a century, she held on to hope, believing that she would recover from bipolar disorder. An extraordinary turn of events when her doctor prescribed a new medication synthesized her thoughts and feelings, and enabled her to begin a new life of independence. Always questing after the larger meaning of her life and sufferings, Pamela asks the big questions in this uplifting journey of overcoming mental illness. This epic poem of rhyming couplets is illustrated by her original watercolors. About the Author: Pamela Jane Holberton holds a Bachelor's Degree from Earlham College in Psychology and Philosophy. She is an accomplished artist and poet and has traveled widely in North America and Europe. Currently she works at Strathmore Music Center in Bethesda, Maryland, and takes classes at Montgomery College in Rockville, Maryland.
