The Apostolic Fathers are generally assigned by historians of ancient Christianity to a narrow collection of non-canonical Christian texts that date within the first and second centuries AD. This brief collection includes the letters of Clement of Rome, Ignatius of Antioch, Polycarp To the Philippians and The Martyrdom of Polycarp, the Didache, Epistle of Barnabas, the Shepherd of Hermas, Diognetus, Fragments of Papias, and the fragment of Quadratus. The goal of the APOSTOLIC FATHERS GREEK READER (AFGR) is to assist readers of ancient Christian literature. Each volume will provide unique and unfamiliar vocabulary for beginning students of the Greek language: words appearing 30 times or less in the Greek NT. The AFGR is a Tier 4 Resource within the AGROS (Accessible Greek Resources and Online Studies) curriculum suite produced by GlossaHouse.
