Middle-age, menopausal twins, Penny and Pam get swept up in a mystery in small town Carrollton, Georgia. Their adventure is triggered by the death of Penny’s beloved microwave and Pam’s extraordinary intuitions. This time, they are joined by their ogre of a brother, Brett, Penny’s husband Dan, and various friends as they search along the flooding waters of the Little Tallapoosa River for a missing little girl, believed to have drowned. Meanwhile, an evil murdering pedophile has been released from prison. He commits horrific crimes on a stormy path that brings him on a collision path with the other characters.

Penny Gardin Lewis is an avid supporter of the arts. A Berry College graduate, she began her career as an Industrial Arts teacher. Heavily involved with the Carroll County Community Theatre, she first served as a volunteer and later became the CPRCAD’s Arts Coordinator and then its Arts Manager. She was the inaugural director of the Carrollton Cultural Arts Center, where she built Carrollton’s reputation as a leader in the visual, literary and performing arts in Georgia. Her unique talent for engaging audiences led to many memorable performances and gallery shows highlighting local actors, musicians, dancers, writers and artists. In 2002, she helped launch MeccaFest, a juried arts festival, to celebrate national artists and showcase Carrollton’s vibrant art community. With the help of her husband Dan and other collaborators, she has written and produced 38 musicals for children in the past 27 years, which have been performed by children all over the world. Penny is enjoying retirement, writing novels, painting on the back porch and making pottery at the Blue Heron Studio. Her third novel, Dear Crabigail, is in development. Penny and Dan are parents to grown and gone children Meagan, Leslie and Chris. They currently live in Carrollton, Georgia with their mentally ill cat Roxie and rescue goldfish Judy.
