KEN OLSON lives on a five-acre parcel near Eugene, Oregon, where his wife and his younger son help him raise Christmas trees. Although he was born and raised in the Seattle suburbs, he has lived on these five acres for 35 years. Mr. Olson likes to hike mountain trails in the national forests and has seen the spectacular snow-capped ranges from the peaks of Grizzly Mountain in Montana, Diamond Peak in Nevada, Maxwell Butte in Oregon, and many other heights. Mr. Olson was a school teacher in Washington, Montana, Illinois, and Oregon. He also taught in the Philippine Islands, and Japan, and in Oregon's Correctional Institutions. He has two sons. Illustrator DEBORAH MAZE has been an illustrator for more than 25 years. Her rich, detailed paintings have graced the pages of numerous children’s books and a range of products including greeting cards, gift bags, and jewelry boxes. Deborah has illustrated over 40 books, including The World of Narnia picture-book series, adapted from C. S. Lewis’ beloved classic The Chronicles of Narnia, and The World of Little House from Laura Ingalls Wilder’s Little House books, both series published by Harper Collins. She has also illustrated over 20 books for noted pediatrician Dr. Bill Sears, among them The Baby Book, published by Little Brown. Other clients include: McGraw-Hill, Barron’s Children’s Books, Children of Faith/Waterbrook Press, The L.E.A.N. Group, Creation House, Marion Heath Greeting Cards, Berkeley Designs and Rhapsody Limited. Ms. Maze has been an illustrator for Port Hole Publishing since 2014. Deborah resides in Southern California with her husband John.
