Synopsis

One hidden witness. One broken promise. One bone in the woods.

Seamus McCree takes his first job hiding a witness—a man marked for death before a Chicago money-laundering trial—deep in the woods of Michigan's Upper Peninsula.

Then he breaks his own rule and briefly leaves the man alone. A freak windstorm flattens the forest. When Seamus finally claws his way home, he finds the TV blaring, a stranger's tire tracks circling the drive, and the witness and an ATV have disappeared.

Racing the daylight into the shattered woods, Seamus and his son's dog track the man who trusted him. The dog unearths an old human bone. Then police find a fresh body, and the witness is still missing.

His partner and lover turns her back on him. His son chooses family over Seamus. Alone, Seamus bets his freedom and his life to keep a promise he may already have broken, while a hired killer closes on the same trail.

Can Seamus find one hunted man in a wilderness gone to ruin before the killer finds them both?

Empty Promises is the fifth Seamus McCree thriller, a complete story that tests every promise he's made.

If you like an honest man fighting a dishonest world, plot and character twists that keep you guessing, and suspense that won't let go, you'll love this Seamus McCree thriller.

Buy Empty Promises today and hold Seamus to his word.
