Synopsis

Sure to be every child's favorite bedtime book! Introducing poetry into a child's book collection opens a window into literature. This whimsical and thought-provoking group of poems plays to a child's imagination. For reluctant readers, the easy rhymes can help boost confidence in reading skills. For parents, Float to the Moon and other bedtime poems will be a joy to share at bedtime with the children they love.

Poems include subject matter pertinent to a child's world. Can your imagination take you to the moon? What happens when two dogs want adventure? Does everyone have bad days sometimes? Humor happens when Mr. O'Leary's animals dance in the barn. There are also poems about one bug's solution to bullying and that being different is a good thing. Children can relate to the getting-ready-for-bed poem, too.

Float to the Moon and other bedtime poems is 44 pages. It includes 37 beautiful, full-color illustrations.

A propos du livre

À propos de l'auteur

Kathleen Rasche is a retired journalist and mother of two grown children. While reporting on school events, Rasche met children whose parents did not read to them. That discovery prompted her to write and illustrate her first children's book, "Cake for Breakfast Every Day." She made it available in English, bilingual Spanish, French and Traditional Chinese editions to encourage language learners or dual-language families to share the experience of reading. Success of Cake and a fondness for children's poetry has led to her latest book, Float to the Moon and other bedtime poems. "I remember loving poetry when I was a child and my own children certainly enjoyed it when we read poetry together. I'd like to encourage parents never to miss that bonding experience of sharing a book with their child."
