From the Forward:For several decades, Dr. John Stump has been healer and friend to my husband, C. Terry Cline, and me, and recognized as a fellow writer. Doc has several books already on shelves and many more exciting stories to tell. In every phase of his extraordinary life, Doc inspired awe with his intelligence, athleticism, and determination. As a young athlete, Doc suffered a broken back. And recovered. He became a teacher, a coach, and later, a medical student. Designated most outstanding graduate of Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa, Doc took his post-doctoral training in China and Japan. He studied the ancient practice of Acupuncture and the Zen Buddhist art of Shorinji Kempo. He spent time working with Olympic athletes and treating other athletic celebrities, yet faithfully served his local community. Doc spoke several languages and was a popular speaker round the world. At the peak of a successful practice and career, Doc suffered a severe stroke, which, after a long recovery, he wrote about in his book, "A Stroke of Midnight." The book is both educational and inspirational to anyone whose loved one has had a stroke.
