I enlisted in the Army, sang in many different groups, married, raised a family, opened (and closed) various restaurants, went through a religious conversion, faced bankruptcy and finally ended up where I am today: an “overnight success” that only took sixty-plus years to achieve.Along the way, I have collected many stories, and these are what I am sharing with you. I was a little hesitant to do so, but with gentle nudging from family and friends, I relented.The stories of my early years may surprise many who know me. Truth is, I was a smart-assed little kid who was constantly getting into trouble (getting away with some and getting caught at the rest). I finally came to realize that what I was doing during those early years wasn’t just fun, but in some cases was also hurtful.As you’ll also see, I made it a point to take my life in a different direction, which finally brought me to be the person I am today. Throughout the course of my life, I have had dozens of close friends, including many from my childhood. It is said you can judge a man by his friendships. If so, I am truly blessed with a rich assortment of friends.
