Synopsis

The territory viewed for this book is not large. Limited to the denizens of a small suburban woodlot. Their antics and lives are observed through the eyes of a biologist and chronicled in haiku form over four seasons. The same participants interact with each other and are seen from different views. The rivalry for food and life constitute much of the dynamics of this book.
A haiku is written in a particular form of three lines. Five syllables in the first, seven in the second, and five in the last. Usually, there is an observation of nature and often an insight or inference in the last line that explains or offers a twist to the first two.
