Michael A. Battey, D.P.M. was born and raised in Rhode Island. He re-ceived degrees from the University of Rhode Island, and the Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine. He maintains a private prac-tice in foot and ankle care with a specialty in hospital based residency training, and is a faculty member at the Brown University Alpert Medi-cal School. He was the author of The Parent Trap column, published from 2005 – 2012 in the East Greenwich Pendulum and sister newspapers I the southern Rhode Island newspaper group. His interests include local education, squash racquets, and time at the beach with family and friends.
