Jamel Attar was a devout Muslim before his conversion to Christ in 1985, three years after his arrival in France for university studies. While studying theological education at the Pastoral Bible Institute in Algrange, France, he developed a great love for biblical languages and went on to continue studies at the University of Caen in Ancient World Literature. He was awarded a doctorate in 2005. He has written and published numerous articles for university review, and for the past ten years has pastored the Evangelical Baptist Church of Caen. He also periodically lectures at the Pastoral Bible Institute and speaks at churches throughout France.
