Presented in a handy hidden-spiral binding, Quilting with Kids is written by mother and daughter duo Wendy and Gwendolyn Sheppard, who know the joy and benefits of stitching with family. Wendy Sheppard, originally from Southeast Asia, began her career as a chemical engineer. In 2005, with encouragement from a friend and no prior experience, she made her first quilt. Needless to say, that delve into quilting changed her career path. Wendy's original designs have been featured in numerous quilting magazines. She also designs patterns for several major fabric companies. Wendy and her family live in Dumfries, VA. (ivoryspring.wordpress.com) Wendy Sheppard's daughter, Gwendolyn, is one of Aurifil's first batch of "Aurikids," part of their initiative to reach out to the next generation of crafters and sewists. And she has already curated her first thread collection for Aurifil, called "Spool-en-dids." Quiltmaker Magazine published an article on Wendy and Gwendolyn quilting together, and Wendy was a guest on Pat Sloan's podcast talking about stitching with her daughter.
