It is with enthusiasm and admiration that I recommend this second volume of poetry by Ann Sheils. I hold in highest regard authors, like Ann, who have tended to their craft and vision over decades and then in an act of bravery, offer us a compilation of their work to nourish our own imaginations. This is a book for those who relish ideas and images artfully wrapped in the English language.

What a pleasure it has been to watch the warm reception of Ann Sheils’ book of verse, In the Perennial Garden. She paints a beautifully woven picture of love, loss, and redemption while offering a backdrop of nature and place. Ann’s work really comes alive when she reads: her readings are deeply affecting and well received. We look forward to hearing more from this gifted author in Rust, Shadow Dream.
