Synopsis

The light from the truck was fully on her now and they were less than fifteen feet away from her. That’s when she turned around and stepped onto the road, directly in the path of their vehicle. Instinctively Ranga sounded the horn, swerved the vehicle and hit the brakes. But the woman didn’t flinch and stood bang in the middle of the road. The truck stood about ten feet or so away from her at an angle such that only the fringes of the headlights glare fell on her…… A series of vignettes woven with wit, intrigue, humor and the occasional jolt! Set in archetypal contemporary India, a proverbial silver lining binds the wrap and weft of each tale.

À propos de l'auteur

Nagendra Murti’s debut novel – Thar Express – was published in September 2014 and delivers an adventure against the backdrop of an India in hitherto unexplored hues. His keen sense of interplay between characters from different backgrounds in his debut novel was widely appreciated. After living in Boston for a decade, Nagendra returned home to India, in 2008. He has travelled extensively across the world, but is firmly rooted in his cultural identity. A chronicler of the middle class in the city he calls home, Nagendra is inspired by Bengaluru’s unique ethos and its people. In spite of the city’s constantly shifting social milieu, that Bengaluru retains its innate charm is what inspires him to put pen to paper. In his spare time, Nagendra is also an active member of civic initiatives in the city. He is passionate about nature conservation and eco-activism. He lives with his family in Bengaluru, and swears by rain-water harvesting, filter coffee, and a house full of books as his foundational principles.
