Synopsis

Meet Mr. Philip Collin, entrepreneur, detective, do-gooder – and criminal extraordinaire.

Philip Collin is a well-respected man-about town, a pillar of London society. He’s also easily bored. And so, purely for his own amusement, he dabbles in “ethical crime,” stealing only from those who deserve it or those who can afford it. Despite his often hilarious cynicism, he’s more likely to right wrongs than to commit them.

This collection showcases Philip Collin at his best, wreaking his signature brand of elegant revenge on the deserving rich. His escapades are decidedly modern. In one story, he “reverse engineers” an insider trading scheme. In another, he invents Airbnb, a hundred years before its time.

Every story in this newly-translated collection will leave you laughing. Though Frank Heller wrote these stories in the 1920s, they are as fresh and surprising now as they were on the day he wrote them, especially in this new easy-to-read translation.
