The objective of the Smarter Balanced 3rd Grade Math book is to provide students, educators, and parents with practice materials focused on the core skills needed to help students succeed on the Smarter Balanced Assessment for Grade 3 in 2018-19.

A student will fare better on a test when s/he has practiced and mastered the skills measured by the assessment. A student also excels when s/he is familiar with the format and structure of the test. This book helps students do both.

Students can use this 3rd Grade workbook for the State assessments to review key material and practice with standard-tethered skill-building exercises. They can also take math practice tests that reflect the rigor and format of the Grade 3 Math SBAC. Students will become accustomed to how the content of the test is presented, which will enhance their test-taking skills. By SBAC testing day, students will feel confident and adequately prepared to do their best on this challenging mathematics exam.

CCSS Math Grade 3 - Grade 3 Test Practice for Common Core

In many states (including California, Connecticut, Delaware, Idaho, Michigan, Montana, Nevada, New Hampshire, Oregon, South Dakota, Vermont, Washington and West Virginia) students are required to participate in SBAC testing. The grade 3 SBAC math test determines if students have mastered third grade Common Core mathematics standards, and makes sure that they are getting ready for fourth grade. Preparation for these State assessments is essential. This workbook includes questions ( e.g: selected response, constructed response, and non-traditional response items) that mimic the format and content on the official SBAC assessment so students can excel on exam day.
